One of our services to the community as an oral health care provider is to
change the wrong knowledge, believes and skills of the clients by provide
them with the correct information and instructions regarding oral health
maintaining . This year we as Oral health service department in the ministry
of health, Bahrain Dental Hygienist Association and the Royal College of
surgeons in Edinburgh are going to coordinate an oral health campaign. We
decide to reach different groups in the community and serve them as oral
health providers’ personals. Our target groups are:
School Children age
10-12
Handicapped
Elderly
The idea to accomplish our main goals and objectives is to make an event which includes different activities that promote oral health awareness to the participants.
Oral Health Promotion Campaign is organized into three events as
following:
1. Al Seef Mall event for children and families:
Main goal: To educate the children aged 10-12 years old and the families
about oral health throw different kinds of media .
Objectives:
To provide children with the correct information regarding oral hygiene by
using cartoon movies.
To enable the children to differentiate between good and bad food and its
association to developing dental decayed.
To built their skills in the proper methods of using oral hygiene tools.
To influence children to visit dental clinics
for oral health maintenance.
To build good relationship with dental team.
Target groups: school children aged
10-12 years old and families visited Seef Mall
Date and time: 16/11/2005 started from 10:00am – 12:30 pm and it is
privet invitation to 150 school children and it will be open to the public
from 12:30 – 10:00 pm and the location is Al Hawag area first floor entrance
will be gate 6.

It will include the following
activity:
official speech and opening ceremony
walking activity
oral health educational movie in cinema hole
what did you learn from the movie compotation
Medical and oral test disk (BP, length, Blood sugar, osteoporoses density
tests and oral health instruction and consultation.
Dental hygienist media work exhibition
Q and A compotation for the children and their families.

event for children will have tow part the morning program which is the
opining ceremony and it is privet invitation that starts in 10 :00am- 12:30
pm ends with the walking activity or festival that promote and announce to
the children and their families who visit the Seef mall about the oral
health educational exhibition which is healed for the public from
12:30pm-9:30 pm and located in the first floor the area opposite to Al Hawag
and The Italy Rest runt.
2) Shikan Al
Farsi event for Disabled children
The main goal: to
elevate the awareness in oral health status and get the parents involved in
this activity for the benefit of good oral health to those special needs
children.
Objectives:
To differentiate between healthy and bad food and its effect in developing tooth decayed.
To built the correct knowledge regarding oral hygiene.
To influence disabled children to visit dental clinic for treatment.
To encourage disabled children to build good relationship between them and the dental team.

This activity will be held in
Shikan Alfarcy center and targeted for the special needs children how can
communicate positively to the event.

elevate the awareness of keeping good oral hygiene and its association with
the overall health for the elderly.
Objectives:
To built the elderly knowledge and skills regarding oral hygiene maintenance.
To gain knowledge in oral health states and association with elderly health
problem and some drugs consumption.
To build good relationship

The Oral Health Promotion Campaign is a
creative way of announcement to the Bahrain British Dental Congress which
will be held in 18-22 /February 2006 as celebrating the Quincentenary of the
Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. The oral health services department
in the Ministry of Health hope to provide the Bahraini community; the public
and the dental professional a benefit from organizing an important event in
the kingdom and that is throw organizing oral health promotion campaign
events to the public and the British Bahraini Congress for Dental
Professionals . We hope from all the companies that support those kinds of
events, the scientific and community services activities to share with us
